This specimen was lot 761 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 39 (Winter Park, FL, May 2026), where it sold for $510. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Peru|PERU]], Lima, cob 1 real, 1749 R, rare, ex-Ugaz. Choice bold date and assayer flanking complete right-hand pillar, good full cross, lightly toned VF. Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection." This type was struck 1747-51 for king Ferdinand VI and is the last cob one real struck in Peru. Assayer R stamped his coins 1748-51. Assayer V is also reported for 1749. In 1732, the Mexico City mint began its transition to milled coinage, a process Lima would not undertake until 1751.
