This specimen was lot 1894 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 39 (Winter Park, FL, May 2026), where it sold for $156. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Peru|PERU]], Lima, cob 1 real, 1747 V, ex-Ugaz. Fine with two dates, full and centered cross, dark surfaces with some hairlines, Ferdinand VI type by default (but Calicó lists the date under Philip V). Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection." This type was struck 1747-51 for king Ferdinand VI and is the last cob one real struck in Peru. Assayer de Vargas ("V") stamped his coins 1739-49. In 1732, the Mexico City mint began its transition to milled coinage, a process Lima would not undertake until 1751.
