This specimen was lot 707 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 38 (Winter Park, FL, November 2025), where it sold for $390. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Peru|PERU]], Lima, cob 2 reales, 1731 N. Bold full cross-lions-castles and pillars-and-waves on a broad, non-round flan, VF with dark contrasting toning on fields. Pedigreed to the Jorge Ugaz Collection of Lima Silver Cob 2 Reales." In 1728, the silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine, with no change in design, and struck in this style until 1747. In 1732, the Mexico City mint began its transition to pillar coinage but the Lima mint would not follow suit until 1751-52. Assayer Negron y Colmenares stamped his coins 1728-38. Specimens with legible dates are scarce.
