The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DEUTSCHE MÜNZEN UND MEDAILLEN · PASSAU, BISTUM Raymund Ferdinand von Rabatta, 1713-1722. Reichstaler 1716, Augsburg. 29,16 g Mit Signatur M (vermutlich Stempelschneider Philipp Heinrich Müller) unter dem Brustbild. [[Silver crowns by Davenport number|Dav-2521]]; Forster 959; Kellner 159. Dunkle Patina, vorzüglich.'' ([[Germany]], [[German States, Passau|bishopric of Passau]], Raymund Ferdinand of Rabatta, 1713-22, thaler of 1716, Augsburg mint, signed "M" under the bust. Dark toning, extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1714, 1716 and 1717. The bishop spent part of his reign squabbling with the bishop of Vienna, who wanted to be raised to an archbishop. The bishopric of Passau was annexed to Bavaria in 1803 and 1805.
