The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''NÜRNBERG, STADT Reichstaler 1627, mit Titel Ferdinands II. Hübsche Patina, fast vorzüglich.'' ([[German States, Nurnberg|city of Nuremberg]], thaler of 1627, struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Handsome patina, about extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1621-28 with several mintmarks and is fairly common. The closely related [[Nurnberg 1624 thaler Dav-5637|Dav-5637]] uses the abbreviation "SEMPER AVGVST·" instead of "SEMP·AVGVST·D:P:".
