The Dutch ten gulden is about four percent heavier than the similar French twenty francs. This type was struck for Wilhelmina (1890-1948) 1892, 1895 and 1897; the 1897 is the most common date. This specimen was lot 2050 in Sincona sale 25 (Zurich, October 2015), where it sold for 17,500 CHF (about US$21,617 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"Wilhelmina 1890-1948 10 Gulden 1895. Utrecht Head of the queen to left. Rev. Crowned arms between the divided value. Extremely rare, only 149 specimens minted. Proof. Brilliant uncirculated. Splendid quality."</blockquote>
