This specimen was lot 1061 in Jean Elsen sale 121 (Brussels, June 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"''BELGIQUE, Royaume des Pays-Bas, Guillaume Ier (1815-1830), AR 25 cents, 1824 B, Bruxelles. Petit coup sur la tranche. presque Superbe.'' (Belgium, kingdom of the Netherlands, William I (1815-30), silver twenty-five cents of 1824, Brussels mint. Small nick on the rim, about extremely fine.)"</blockquote> This type was struck in Utrecht and Brussels 1817-30. The 1824-B is neither common nor rare. After [[Belgium]] obtained her independence in 1830, the mint continued striking for the new country and is still in operation.
