This specimen was lot 3292 in Sincona sale 83 (Zurich, May 2023), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$870 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Nepal|NEPAL]], Birendra Bir Bikram, 2028-2058 VS (1971-2001 AD). 5.0 G Asarphi 2031 VS (1974 AD), NGC MS67. ''Prachtexemplar. Das durch NGC höchstbewertete Exemplar'' (Cabinet piece, Finest certified by NGC)." King Birendra Bir Bikram (ruled 1971-2001) was murdered by his son in a domestic dispute. The king's brother, Gyanendra, ruled until the monarchy was abolished in 2008. The asarphi isn't really a denomination but an indication that the coin is to be traded by its weight, in this case five grams.
