Muley Yusuf I was proclaimed sultan in AH 1330 after his brother abdicated. He oversaw a time of various conflicts, including a rebellion that resulted in occupation by French forces (and issuance of coins under the French protectorate). As with his predecessors, his identity is only alluded to on the coins, without directly stating his name.

Shown is a silver one rial coin from the Paris mint, dated AH 1336, or 1918 AD. It was lot 28808 and sold on Jan 11, 2011 for $149.50 at the 2011 January World & Ancient Coins Non-Floor Session #3013 by Heritage Auctions. The catalog description reads: "Yusuf 10 Dirhams AH1336 (1918), AU, lightly cleaned, yet most pleasant."
