As with his predecessors, his identity is only alluded to on the coins, without directly stating his name. During his tenure, competition for influence came to a head between the Spanish and French, the result being the Treaty of Fez in 1912 which effectively split [[Morocco]] into official protectorates of [[France]] and [[Spain]]. The Kingdom of Morocco was reinstated in 1956.
