This specimen was lot 1326 in SINCONA Auction 97 (Zurich, May 2025), where it sold for 700 CHF (US$1,015 including buyers' fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DEUTSCHLAND Montfort, Grafschaft, Hugo IV. und Johann VII. 1611-1621. Taler 1620, Erolzheim. Mit Titel Ferdinands II. Spitzes Wappen im Revers. Sehr seltene Variante. Sehr schön.'' ([[Germany]], county of Montfort, Hugo IV and John VII, 1611-21, Frolzheim mint, struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Pointed arms on the reverse. Very rare variety, Very Fine.)"</blockquote> Several dies were used for this issue, including Dav-7077 and -7077A. All are rare. Montfort is an extremely obscure locality on the shore of Lake Constance in Wurttemberg. We have filed it under [[Austria]] as the counts sold out to the Austrian emperor in 1780.
