This specimen was lot 1886 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "MEXICO, Mexico City, cob 1 real, 1730 F, rare, ex-Hubbard. VF with bold full date, mintmark, and assayer plus part of the shield, nice cross, dull gray-toned surfaces, not as common as R or G for this date and denomination. Pedigreed to the Clyde Hubbard Collection, with his tag." This type was struck in Mexico City 1701-32 and is scarce with legible dates altho much more common than one real cobs of Charles II. The cobs of 1730 come with assayers F, G or R, all priced about the same. The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1728.
