This specimen was lot 1430 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it sold for $102. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "MEXICO: Estados Unidos, AR 5 pesos, ND (2011), Chichén Itzá - Casa de las Monjas, NGC graded Proof 70 ULTRA CAMEO. The designation of Chichén Itzá as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World occurred on July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, Portugal, hence these new commemorative coins bear the number 070707 on the reverse, just below the Casa de Moneda de México mintmark." These NCLT's, which included KM 946 and KM 947, were not dated, a very unusual feature on a modern product of the Mexico mint. One memorable die break caused the legend to read "Chickén Itzá". We presume the die engraver responsible received revolutionary justice.
