The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ITALIEN, MANTUA, Carlo I. 1627-1637. 1/2 Scudo o. J. (1629), geprägt während der Belagerung im Mantuanischen Erbfolgekrieg, 1629-1630. St. Andreas mit Kreuz steht v. v. im Abschnitt · MANTVÆ ·//Schmelztiegel mit Silberzainen in loderndem Feuer. Engel/Fabre/Perret/Wattier 4.12.13.3. Von großer Seltenheit. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, sehr schön. Aus der Sammlung Eberhard Link. Exemplar der Auktion Aretusa 4, Lugano 1996, Nr. 1155.''
