This specimen was lot 2370 in Künker sale 404 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €350 (about US$459 including buyer's fees). Very fine.)"</blockquote> Johann Philipp von Schönborn (1605–1673) was a committed pluralist, being the archbishop-elector of Mainz (1647–1673), the bishop of Würzburg (1642–1673), and the bishop of Worms (1663–1673). He was a principal negotiator of the Peace of Westphalia of 1648 which ended the Thirty Years War. As a result of the war, the thaler rose from 72 to ninety kreuzers. Many princes responded in the 1670's by issuing the gulden at its old value of sixty kreuzer or two-thirds of a thaler. The archbishops also issued half gulden in many styles (KM 120, [[Mainz 1675-MF 30 kreuzer KM-134|134]], [[Mainz 1675-MF 30 kreuzer KM-135|135]], 148, [[Mainz 1679-MF 30 kreuzer|162]], 178) of which this issue of 1671-72 is the first.
