This specimen was lot 2287 in Künker sale 404 (Osnabruck, March 2024), where it sold for €4,000 (about US$5,249 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''DAS ERZBISTUM MAINZ. ERZBISCHOF DANIEL BRENDEL VON HOMBURG, 1555-1582. Die Münzstätte Mainz. ½ Reichstaler 1571 (Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1568 geändert), Mainz. Halber Bettlertaler. Mit MONETA : ARGENT - EA : MOGVNTINEN : auf der Rückseite. Dreifach behelmtes und verziertes, vierfeldiges Wappen (Mainz/Brendel)//St. Martin reitet l. mit Schwert und teilt seinen Mantel mit einem am Boden sitzenden Bettler, unten der Wappenschild von Mainz. Von großer Seltenheit. Einhieb am Rand, sonst vorzüglich. Exemplar der Auktion Dr. Busso Peus Nachf. 412, Frankfurt/Main 2014, Nr. 1441 (Letztes Vorkommen im Handel: Auktion Adolph E. Cahn 65, Frankfurt/Main 1929, Nr. 1751 = 195 Goldmark, an das Stadtarchiv Mainz).''
