This issue was minted in Lisbon for the Portuguese colony of [[Macao]]. This date, 1952, is the inaugural year for coins minted especially for Macao. The coin is common tho a one-year type. Unlike the other colonies of [[Portugal]], there was never any agitation for independence but the colony was returned to China in 1999.
