This specimen was lot 57753 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2024), where it sold for $600. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "NETHERLANDS. [[Netherlands, Kampen|Kampen]]. Ducaton (Silver Rider), 1669. NGC AU-53. From an Old Brooklyn Collection." A number of towns issued coins in the Netherlands besides the provinces and the Generality consistently found them below standard as to weight and purity. Decades of complaints finally resulted in the closure of all the municipal mints by the end of the seventeenth century. This type was struck with this mintmark 1664-70 and 1675. The obverse legend reads, "MO NO ARG CIVIT CAMPENSIS" (new silver coin of Kampen).
