This specimen was part of lot 21123 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), which sold for $3,360. The catalog description<sup>[2]</sup> noted, "ITALY. Date Run of 20 Lire, 1865-97. Fr-11 & 21; KM-10.1 & 21. 12 pieces in lot. 1865, 1879, 1880, 1881, 1883, 1885, 1886, 1888, 1890, 1891, 1893, & 1897. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. NGC AU-58 (1), Unc Details--Scratches (1), MS-61 (1), MS-62 (4), & MS-63 (5)." This date is one of a series struck 1879-97 at the Rome mint during the reign of Umberto of [[Italy]]. It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French twenty francs.
