Fast vorzüglich,'' (1879 20 lire, Rome mint, nice extremely fine)." The second specimen was lot 3760 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $328. The catalog description[1] noted, "Italy. 20 Lire, 1879-R. Umberto I, 1878-1900. NGC graded AU-58." The third specimen was part of lot 21123 in Stack's Bowers 2018 NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), which sold for $3,360. The catalog description[2] noted, "ITALY. Date Run of 20 Lire, 1865-97. Fr-11 & 21; KM-10.1 & 21. 12 pieces in lot. 1865, 1879, 1880, 1881, 1883, 1885, 1886, 1888, 1890, 1891, 1893, & 1897. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. NGC AU-58 (1), Unc Details--Scratches (1), MS-61 (1), MS-62 (4), & MS-63 (5)." This date is one of a series struck 1879-97 at the Rome mint during the reign of Umberto of [[Italy]]. It is struck to the same standard as the contemporary French twenty francs.
