This specimen was lot 1019 in Sincona sale 85 (Zurich, October 2023), where it sold for 3,100 CHF (about US$4,175 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"[[Iran|IRAN]], Nasir al-Din Shah, 1264-1313 AH (1848-1896). 1 Toman n. d. (1294-1295 AH / 1877-1878 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. Very rare variety. NGC MS66. Cabinet piece. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 26. Bought from S. Cordry, San Diego, 1983. Finest certified by NGC."</blockquote> With the coming of the milled coinage, all of the branch mints were closed and all production was completed in Tehran. One thousand dinars made a kran and ten kran made a toman. The SCWC does not mention this type without date.
