This specimen was lot 25098 in Heritage sale 3015 (Long Beach, September 2011), where it sold for $632.50. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Republic 1/2 Centavo 1891, brown AU with deeply struck design features, very rare date with less than 10 examples known, this being among the finest extant. The second 1 in the date was punched in slightly higher than the first three digits and tilted to the right." The specimen shown is one of a type struck in [[Honduras]] 1881-91, after which the denomination was abandoned. Several dates (1881 and 1891) are extremely rare. Most show evidence of the primitive conditions in which they were made. <br />
