This specimen was lot 73587 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2023), where it sold for $264. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Germany|GERMANY]]. [[German States, Brunswick-Luneburg|Brunswick-Luneburg]]: [[German States, Hannover|Hannover]]. 24 Mariengroschen (2/3 Taler), 1719-C. Zellerfeld Mint. Georg Ludwig (George I of Great Britain). PCGS AU-55. A rather muscular Wild Man graces the light gray surfaces of this coin; champagne toning in the lettering serves to emphasize those relief details. Light wear and an even, relatively strong strike. Attractive. From the Robert C. Knepper Collection." Three different gulden are listed for 1719: KM 100 (1719-HCB, bust obverse, scarce), KM 112.1 (struck 1716-21, shown here) and [[Hannover 1719-HCB 2/3 thaler KM-148|KM 148]] (1719-HCB, leaping stallion). This coin is catalogued as ⅔ thaler as no "24" is marked on the coin.<br />
