This specimen was lot 2436 in Künker sale 439 (Osnabrück, March 2026), where it sold for €1,200 (about US$1,651 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''HAMBURG, STADT Dukat 1870. GOLD. Vorzüglich-Stempelglanz.'' ([[German States, Hamburg|city of Hamburg]], ducat of 1870. Extremely fine to uncirculated.)"</blockquote> This type is listed for 1868-72 and is fairly common for a German ducat of the period. The Hamburg mint remained open after unification and is still operating today, striking coins for the Federal Republic of Germany.
