This specimen was lot 3684 in Goldberg sale 70 (Los Angeles, September 2012), where it sold for $1,955. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Guinea]]. 10000 Francs, 1970. For the 10th Anniversary of Independence. Ahmed Sekou Toure head left. NGC graded Proof 63 Ultra Cameo." This type was issued in sets with a large number of silver 500 francs and gold 2000 francs, most likely distributed to the president's friends and cronies.
