This specimen was lot 71510 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $336. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Great Britain|GREAT BRITAIN]]. 10 Pounds, 2001. Llantrisant Mint. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. A pristine example of this one year type. Matte finish on the obverse with hard mirrored surfaces on the reverse." In 1987, emulating the krugerrand, the maple leaf, the American gold eagle and other bullion coins, the Royal Mint introduced the Britannia program. Gold one, half, quarter and tenth ounce pieces were coined and marketed. To boost sales, the reverses were changed annually. This type was accompanied by [[Great Britain 2001 50 pounds|KM 1022]] (₤50), [[Great Britain 2001 25 pounds|KM 1021]] (₤25) and [[Great Britain 2001 100 pounds|KM 1023]] (₤100). This design was used again in 2006.
