This ten new pence, or 1/10 of a pound, was introduced in 1968 as part of the decimal reform. It was equal to the florin in the sterling coinage. This design was used until 1982, when the word &amp;quot;new&amp;quot; was dropped. None were struck for circulation in 1972 and 1978. The weight was reduced to 6.5 g in 1992.&lt;br /&gt;
