This specimen was lot 4106 in Goldberg sale 80 (Los Angeles, June 2014), where it sold for $199.75. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Great Britain. Halfpenny, 1875. Victoria. Traces of mint red. NGC graded MS-63 Brown." In 1860, the copper half penny was superseded by a smaller bronze half penny. To mark the change, the young bust was dropped in favor of the "bun head." This type was struck until 1895. [[Great Britain 1860 farthing|farthings]] and [[Great Britain 1877 penny|pennies]] were similarly modified. The Heaton mint also struck this type 1874-76 and 1881-82.<br />
