This specimen was lot 1590 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $202.30. The catalog description&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;[2]&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; noted, &amp;quot;[[France|FRANCE]]: Louis Philippe I, 1830-1848, AR 2 francs, 1841-BB, lightly cleaned, choice VF, R.&amp;quot; Many issues of this type are known from a handful (&amp;lt;10) of examples. The type is not difficult to find but is expensive in high grade. This date from Strasbourg is priced about twice the common date (1847-A). All two francs issued prior to 1859, including this one, were demonetized in 1869 to make way for the succeeding issue which was only .835 fine.&lt;br /&gt;
