This specimen was lot 20367 in Stack's Bowers Baltimore Auction (Baltimore, March 2018), where it sold for $2,880. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "La Verne, California. $10 1902 Plain Back. Fr. 632. The First NB. Charter #9599. PCGS Very Fine 20. This is the first time we have been able to offer a note from this very scarce Los Angeles County bank. There are just eight total notes reported to this second title and 13 total large for the entire bank. An overall pleasing example."
