This specimen was lot 11276 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €65 (about US$68). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Sweden|SWEDEN]]. Solidus (Schilling), 1633. Elbing Mint. Gustav II Adolf. NGC EF Details--Environmental Damage. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." Elbing, a port on the Vistula river, was long a rival to Danzig. It was occupied by the Swedes in the 1630's and used by them as a base during the Thirty Years War. However, Gustavus Adolphus never annexed it and it eventually returned to Polish control. We can't read the date on this example, that part of the reverse being weakly struck, so we'll take the auctioneer's word for it. This denomination was also struck for queen Christina 1633-34.
