All provisional half ''reales'' of this type are very rare. It was lot 9130 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $920. The catalog description&lt;sup&gt;[1]&lt;/sup&gt; noted, &quot;EL SALVADOR. Provisional Coinage. 1/2 Real, 1835. KM-21.3 (but 1 over 'P' to right of pillar). Obverse: POR LA LIBERTAD SALVA . Reverse: MONEDA PRO(VIS)IONAL : 1835 Ex: Ponterio &amp; Associates Auction #65 October 1993, lot #534. VERY RARE. Nice for this type. Some light scratches on both obverse and reverse, somewhat obscured by toning.
