This specimen was lot 20282 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Denmark|DENMARK]]. 25 Ore, 1894-VBP. Copenhagen Mint; mm: Heart. Christian IX. PCGS PROOF-66 Gold Shield. A magnificent specimen, this blistering Gem presents flawless surfaces and radiating luster. The blast white appearance is accentuated by an alluring golden tone, while the devices exhibiting a slightly frosted nature. INCREDIBLY RARE as a proof and, rather accordingly, worthy of an elite bid." Danish currency endured several "reforms" in the nineteenth century. In 1874, the coinage was reformed again to the current system of 100 øre = one krone. This type was struck struck 1894, 1900 and 1904-05. This coin was struck to the same standard as the Swedish twenty-five öre and is the closest thing to a silver dime Denmark issued.
