This specimen was lot 23466 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $940. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "George V 1/2 Piastre 1930, MS64 Red and Brown PCGS. Radiant luster, with a flawless strike. The surfaces are free of distracting marks and considerable original red color remains. Quite rare in Choice Mint State." The SCWC lists this type for 1922-31 where it was struck in moderate numbers along with quarter piastres ([[Cyprus 1926 1/4 piastre|KM 16]]) and one piasters (KM 18), all in bronze. Cyprus, seized from the Turks by the British in 1878, was given a quasi-sterling coinage where nine piastres = one shilling.
