The Banco Peninsular Mexicano was the result of the 1905 merger of the [[Currency of the Banco Yucateco|Banco Yucateco]] and the Banco Mercantil de Yucatan. It issued many notes during its ten years of existence, mostly overprinted issues of its predecessor banks. This one peso is common in all grades and was printed locally in Mexico.
