This specimen was lot 30378 in Heritage sale 3035 (Long Beach, September 2014), where it sold for $3,525. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Central American Republic Real 1831 CR-F MS63 PCGS, San Jose mint. Choice Mint State and among the finest seen for this ever popular 'arbolito' type. Semi-prooflike reflective fields and obviously original surfaces combine with a sharp strike (note the almost full details in the leaves of the Ceiba tree) to produce a most pleasing impression. An important opportunity for the specialist which should attract strong bidding." This design was struck in Honduras in 1830 (KM 19) and in Costa Rica in 1831. A similar design with reduced fineness was issued 1846-49 (KM 21a). It is catalogued in the SCWC under the [[Central American Republic]]. This date is also known with assayer E.<br />
