This specimen was minted in Medellin, [[Colombia]], in 1869. This type was minted at Bogotá and Medellin 1868-71 and is the last silver peso minted in Colombia in the nineteenth century. After this issue, the mints concentrated on half dollars. The first specimen was lot 9048 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $3,737.50. The catalog description&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;[1]&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; noted, &amp;quot;COLOMBIA. Peso, 1869. Medellin Mint. Exceptional grade for this type. Toned NGC MS-63.&amp;quot;  The second specimen was lot 1083 in Sedwick sale 10 (Winter Park, FL, October 2011), where it sold for $1,955. The catalog description&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;[2]&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; noted, &amp;quot;Medellin, Colombia, 1 peso, 1869. Highly lustrous BU/AU- with weakly struck center on reverse, minor rim-flaws on obverse, very flashy and impressive.&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;
