This specimen was lot 6544 in Künker sale 336 (Osnabruck, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €37,000 (about US$48,418 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''KÖLN, ERZBISTUM. Joseph Klemens von Bayern, 1688-1702. 3 Dukaten 1696 (geprägt 1698), Bonn, geprägt aus westfälischem Gold, das 1696 bei Brilon gefördert wurde. In 1688 the old archbishop (Maximilian Henry of Bavaria, r. 1650-88) died and his replacement (Joseph Clemens of Bavaria, r. 1688-1723) elevated. The example shown in the SCWC for this type is from different dies.
