This specimen was lot 6640 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2022), where it sold for $336. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Chile|CHILE]]. 5 Centavos, 1901-So. Santiago Mint. NGC MS-67. This example is the 1901/801 overdate, with ".0.5". A sharply struck Gem with full satiny luster and faint toning." This type was struck 1899, 1901, 1904-07 and many overdates exist. The decline in silver content did not stop with this type; in 1908 it was reduced to 1 g, .400 fine and finally to copper-nickel in 1920. All dates are common.
