This specimen was lot 76358 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Ceylon|CEYLON]]. 1/2 Cent, 1909. London Mint. Edward VII. PCGS MS-64 Red Brown." This type was struck 1904-09. It is common in all grades and was accompanied by a quarter cent and [[Ceylon 1909 cent|one cent]]. Half cents were struck for Ceylon as late as 1940. Ceylon, famous for tea, attained its independence in 1948 after the British left India and is now known as Sri Lanka.
