This specimen was part of lot 30287 in Heritage sale 3081 (New York, January 2020), which sold for $7,500. The catalog description&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;[1]&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; noted, &amp;quot;[[Central African Republic]] 5-Piece Uncertified gold &amp;quot;10th Anniversary of Independence&amp;quot; Proof Set 1970, 1) 1000 Francs; 2) 3000 Francs; 3) 5000 Francs; 4) 10,000 Francs, 5) 20,000 Francs, KM 5. Highly pleasing, some light wisps noted for the sake of accuracy, though each piece shows clear cameo contrasts. Sold with the case of issue, and while missing the COA, the 20,000 Francs is stamped #117. Total AGW 3.9497 oz.&amp;quot; Jean-Bédel Bokassa (1921-96), also known as Bokassa I, was a Central African political and military leader who served as the 2nd President of the Central African Republic and as the emperor of its successor state, the Central African Empire, from 1 January 1966 until overthrown in a subsequent coup in 1979.
