This specimen was lot 1703 in Jean Elsen sale 164 (Brussels, March 2026), where it sold for €170 (about US$237 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''ESPAGNE, Ferdinand VII (1808-1833), Cu 6 quartos, 1814, Catalogne (Majorque). Petit coup sur la tranche. Superbe.'' (kingdom of [[Spain]], Ferdinand VII, 1808-33, copper six quartos, Catalonia mint. Small rim nick, Extremely Fine.)"</blockquote> This copper coin was issued from Mallorca for use there and in [[[[Coinage of Catalonia|Catalonia]]. It was issued 1810-14 and accompanied by a copper [[Catalonia 1813 ochavo|ochavo]], quarto, [[Catalonia 1811 1-1/2 cuartos|quarto y medio]], two quartos and [[Catalonia 1813 3 quartos|three quartos]]. In the local currency, six quartos = 1/20 peso. This coin is not common but priced rather low in the SCWC. The last local Catalan issue is a rare six quartos dated 1848, after which regular Spanish coinage was used.
