Value in maple wreath. Diffused gold toning deepens at the crisp peripheries for bold visual effect. MS-64 (PCGS)."</blockquote> The second specimen was lot 24107 in Heritage sale 3026 (Long Beach, October 2013), where it sold for $4,406.25. The catalog description[2] noted, "George V Specimen 25 Cents 1929, SP64 NGC, superb design features with a velvet frost to the bust details, a lovely coin and rare in this exclusive quality." The third specimen was lot 24247 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it did not sell. The catalog description[3] noted, <blockquote>"George V Specimen 25 Cents 1929, Ottowa mint, SP68 PCGS. Like the previous lot, popular opinion and certification records appear to suggest this date as the second most populous for George V behind his 1911 coronation issues. However, when researching the appearance of these pieces, very few turn up. As replete with rarities as the Norweb, Pittman and Belzberg were, they were all missing the silver Specimens from 1929. Consultation of broader auction records leads to a similar absence - after searching general sales from a number of companies over the past decade, we were only able to find one instance of this date selling. It seems, that the although these coins appear in the census, that they are unavailable for collectors. Not only does this present offering bring about an infrequently seen spotlight on the date, but the condition also has to be lauded. Tied for the finest known with one other example at PCGS, the pearly surfaces of this masterful impression remain essentially the same as they were when coined nearly 85 years ago. No marks are apparent on the surfaces and, likely the result of a delicate lacquering at the mint, only tiny freckles of golden tone exist atop the surfaces. A truly premium example of this type and certain to be pursued by a collector with an eye for the finest in numismatics. From The Prager Collection of Canadian Specimen Coins."</blockquote> This type was struck 1920-36 and is common in circulated condition. Earlier dates (1912-19, [[Canada 1914 25 cents|KM 24]]) were made from .925 fine silver.

+

The first specimen was lot 949 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, October 2010), where it sold for $345. The first specimen was lot 949 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, October 2010), where it sold for $345. The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"CANADA. George V, 1910-1936. 25 Cents, 1929. Crowned bust l., DEI. GRA. In titles. Rv.
