This specimen was lot 1427 in Stephen Album sale 43 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2022), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Burundi|BURUNDI]]: Mwambutsa IV, 1962-1966, AR 5 francs, 1962, Independence Commemorative, PCGS graded Proof 66 Cameo. A rarely encountered modern commemorative issue." The SCWC lists this type in copper-nickel and silver but does not price either format. We presume it is rare. Wikipedia comments, "Mwambutsa IV Bangiricenge (1912–77) was the penultimate king of Burundi (or ''mwami'') who ruled between 1915 and 1966. He succeeded to the throne on the death of his father Mutaga IV Mbikije (reigned 1908–15). Born while Burundi was under German colonial rule, Mwambutsa's reign mostly coincided with Belgian colonial rule (1916–62). The Belgians retained the monarchs of both Rwanda and Burundi under the policy of indirect rule."
