To mark the occasion, all new coins were released with the ten, [[Brazil 1945 20 centavos|twenty]] and [[Brazil 1944 50 centavos|fifty centavos]] featuring the bust of Vargas. The cruzeiro of 1942-56 ([[Brazil 1947 cruzeiro|KM 558]]) was aluminum bronze but was switched to aluminum (shown here) for 1957-61. It has little collector value except in Uncirculated.
