This specimen was lot 72306 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $216. The catalog description&amp;lt;sup&amp;gt;[1]&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt; noted, &amp;quot;[[Bolivia|BOLIVIA]]. 8 Soles, 1836-PTS LM. Potosi Mint. NGC AU-55. Distinctive argent silver toning with just a touch of wear. A coin with major eye appeal.&amp;quot; This type was struck in large quantities 1827-40 after Bolivian independence. It was struck in Potosi right thru the disruption of the temporary merger with Peru 1836-39. This coin usually comes poorly struck on bad planchets. Later eight soles were struck to the same weight standard until 1859, when the weight was lowered to 20 grams. Overdates 1836/6 and 1836/5 are reported.&lt;br /&gt;
