The first specimen was lot 469 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 220 euro (about US$349 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"''1813. Potosí. PJ. 8 reales. Escasa y más así. MBC+/EBC-.'' (eight reales of 1813, Potosí mint. Scarce, choice very fine to extremely fine.)"</blockquote> The second specimen was lot 470 in Aureo & Calicó sale 238 (Barcelona, November 2011), where it sold for 1,900 euro (about US$3,013 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, <blockquote>"''1813. Potosí. PJ. 8 reales. Error FERDIN IIV. Pátina. Atractiva. Muy rara. MBC/MBC+. '' (eight reales of 1813, Potosí mint, "FERDIN IIV" error. Toned, attractive, very rare, choice very fine.)"</blockquote> Assayer PJ is recorded for the years 1803-24. No Potosí mint coins are known dated 1810-12. In 1813, the royalists recaptured the mint from [[Argentina 1813-PTS J 8 reales|the Argentines]] and resumed the issue of Ferdinand VII pesos. The second specimen is a well known error catalogued at ten times the price of the normal issue.
