This specimen was lot 775 in Sedwick Auction 37 (Winter Park, FL, May 2025), where it sold for $390. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "[[Bolivia|BOLIVIA]], Potosí, cob 4 reales, 1746 q, ex-Ponte. Richly toned AU- on a chunky flan with well-centered full pillars-and-waves and cross-lions-castles, two dates, typical surface roughness on opposing sides. Pedigreed to the Luis R. Ponte Collection." This type was struck for Philip V through his entire reign. Assayer "q" stamped coins 1744-59. Assayers "C" and "q" are both listed for 1744. The silver cobs were debased from 0.931 fine to 0.917 fine in 1728.
