This specimen was lot 159 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 26 (Winter Park, FL, November 2019), where it sold for $2,618. The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, "Potosi, [[Bolivia]], cob 4 reales, 1618PAL, very rare, Grade 1. Incredibly well-detailed full shield with full and clear P-PAL, the cross also very well-detailed (just with a little corrosion) and with clear date, silvery. Pedigreed to the Classics collection, with Fisher tag and certificate #236861. Recovered from ''Atocha'', sunk in 1622 west of Key West, Florida." This type was struck 1605-21, throughout the reign of Philip III. Dates were added in 1617; even so, many are so crudely made that the dates are not legible.
