This specimen was lot 968 in Jean Elsen sale 161 (Brussels, March 2025), where it sold for €85 (about US$111 including buyer's fees). The catalog description<sup>[1]</sup> noted, <blockquote>"''BELGIQUE, Royaume, Léopold II (1865-1909), Cupro-nickel 25 centimes, 1908 FR. '' (kingdom of [[Belgium]], Leopold II, 1865-1909, copper-nickel 25 centimes of 1908, French legends. Uncirculated.)"</blockquote> This type was struck 1908-09 with French (shown here) and Dutch legends (KM 63) and is common. This was the only denomination struck at Brussels in 1908.
